About WikiBea

My photo
Beatrice
How many blogs are out there? Probably millions, and still counting? My blog qualifies as another ego trip to the Blogosphere. After years of nagging my friends through emails, I am starting a blog for the sake of learning new skills & tricks. I am not concerned about readership. For someone viscerally opposed to social networks because of their debilitating impacts on adult sanity, blogging will be an up-to-date alternative and a new technology frontier for me. As the blogosphere is out of control, with zillion mostly inactive blogs, the first challenge for the budding blogger is to identify a name still available. I had to compromise. My first choice was “wikibea” because it sounds like a famous website. The name is no longer available, seemingly taken by a dead blogger. This blog has been inactive for years. My blog will display a hotchpotch of travelogs, anecdotes, politically incorrect dispatched from Rio de Janeiro where the cariocas live. Wikibea-carioca will start as a one-way traffic. Hopefully, it will provoke a two-way traffic. The curmudgeon inside me will do its best to keep the wikiwiki on the road!
